Hoops Over Hate ||
We are excited to announce another Hoops Over Hate youth basketball tournament going down at our upcoming community event on 5/29, Chinatown Rise Up! 🏀🙌🏼
Recently, amidst the drastic uptick of anti-Asian violence and following the tragic shooting in Atlanta, a 13 year old experienced an anti-Asian attack at PS 20 Bowne Park. This led to a response in organizing the first Hoops over Hate tournament in Flushing, Queens. We were floored by the turnout and the sense of connectedness we felt from all participants and volunteers. For 5/29, we hope to bring together families in Chinatown and uplift our youth. The purpose of this event is to create a safe environment for youth and for communities to come together to stand against hate. 💪🏼
Organized by Asians in America Inc & NY Titans with the incredible support of the following partners: Apex for Youth, Protect Chinatown, Chinatown BID ❤️

Rally to Fight for Asian American Studies
In one of the largest school districts in the country, Los Angeles Unified School District with 600K students, let's demand for Asian American Studies in the K-12 curriculum!!!
We'll call on the Supervisor, Chief Academic Officer, Chief Intelligence Officer, Chief Technology Officer, the decision-makers
Asian Americans have contributed so much to our country, but are acknowledged in small paragraphs and footnotes of our history books, which lead to the dehumanization and perpetual foreignness placed upon us.
Hoops Over Hate
Amidst all the pain and hurt our Asian community has faced, with the support of @brooklynusabasketball we are organizing a positive youth 3v3 hoops tournament "Hoops over Hate" to create a space where kids feel safe and to build a bridge between communities through ball.
